Connecting families in San Diego County to subsidized early care, early education and childcare programs.

Head Start and Early Head Start programs provide free learning and development services to children ages birth to 5 from low-income families. Early Head Start and Head Start welcome children with disabilities.

The YMCA's Childcare Resource Service has been helping parents find trusted daycares and licensed child care providers throughout San Diego County for over 40 years — including non-YMCA child care centers, family child care homes, nanny agencies, and license-exempt school-based programs.

Thanks to being a state-funded child care referral agency (one of the first in California), we provide this service at no cost, and our database of licensed care providers must meet tough California state requirements.

Our vision is to provide quality early childhood education, development, and health programs for children 4 months to 5 years of age at little or no cost to low-income families.  This early education program helps families to remain gainfully employed, attend school, or have time to look for work and be self-sustaining. ECCDC provides quality care and early childhood education that promotes early intervention and inclusion, nutrition, wellness, and support in licensed community-based centers. Education and support breaks the cycle of poverty.
